We’ve had a number of doctors tell us they’re really good to go on internet and social media marketing, because they have their website up and running and have created a Facebook page. That’s great, as far as it goes, but the next question is “What are you doing with them.” Let’s look at a few questions we all need to ask regarding this type of marketing:
- Are you, or do you have someone on your team working with Google Analytics?
- Is your Facebook page linked to your website, and are other sites of dental interest linked to your website as well?
- Do you regularly add to your Facebook page?
- Do you regularly update the content on your website?
- Do you have any videos on your website?
- Are you incentivizing patients to “like” your Facebook page with contests and prizes?
All these things and many more, not only make your website and Facebook more interesting, but also serve to optimize them to some degree. They don’t do it all, and if you want real “get me to the top of the list” optimization, get a professional to do that work for you. But in the meantime (or until you’re ready to optimize) – get writing, posting pictures, announcing birthdays and special events, and just generally promoting yourself on these great tools.
